ASCU Elections 2026/27: President and General-Secretary

Our call for (self-)nominations is open for the positions of President and General-Secretary for the 2026-2027 academic in replacement of J.L Kika and Bonface Gichuki respectively.
As per the ASCU Constitution 2025, Article 6.1:
-
A candidate vying for the position of President shall be a postgraduate student
who has been in the University (in any other capacity) for a minimum of one academic year and is a fullyregistered member of ASCU. -
A candidate for the position of General Secretary shall be a student who has been in the University for at least one academic year and is a fully registered member of ASCU.

New ASCU President and General Secretary!

We are pleased to announce that new executive members have elected for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Following elections held on August 13, Junior Lusu Kika, a PhD student in Plant Sciences at St Edmund’s College, has been elected as President, while Bonface Gichuki, a PhD student in Biological Sciences based at the Sanger Institute and Wolfson college, has been elected as General Secretary.

In line with the society’s revised constitution, a by-election will be held during Michaelmas Term to fill the remaining executive positions. This will provide an opportunity for new students to actively engage in the society’s leadership and contribute to our mission.
